The Dental Service of Gülhane Military Medical Academy was established in 1946 by the General Staff and the Ministry of National Defense as the Institute of Odontology (Dental). On November 17, 1983, with the GATA Law, the Institute of Health Sciences was established and the academic organization of the Odontology Institute was reorganized as the Center for Dental Sciences affiliated to this unit. The Center of Dental Sciences has been conducting postgraduate doctoral education and specialty education in dentistry.

University of Health Sciences Gülhane Faculty of Dentistry was established with the decree of the Council of Ministers dated 6.02.2017 and numbered 2017/9889, and started education by taking its first undergraduate students in the 2017-2018 academic year. With the approval of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education, the establishment of the “Gülhane Dentistry Health Application and Research Center” was approved on 18/06/2018 and the SUAM regulation was published on 20/03/2019. '‘Health Sciences University Gülhane Dentistry Health Practice and Research Center Health Services Protocol’' was signed with the Social Security Institution General Health Insurance on 30/07/2019 and our Faculty started to provide health services to patients with Social Security Insurance.

Our students continue their theoretical and practical courses in the classrooms and laboratories within the Gülhane Complex of the University of Health Sciences, and their clinical internships in the Gülhane Dentistry Health Practice Research Center, which has extremely modern facilities on the same campus.
