Antalya Training and Research Hospital

The foundation of Antalya State Hospital was laid by the Italians in 1918 and served under the name of Italian Hospital until 1920. In 1925, Gureba Hospital with 1 chief physician, 3 doctors and 30 bed capacity was transferred to the Special Administration in 1930 and named as Hometown Hospital. In 1935, Obstetrics and Gynecology Service was added to the hospital, which served with internal medicine and surgical services, and the number of beds was increased to 90 in 1952 and to 200 in 1968.

In the early 1970s, it was realized that the existing building, which could not be renovated due to the focus on the new hospital project, was insufficient and it was decided to start a comprehensive renovation and renovation movement. The support of philanthropists from Antalya was obtained to increase the financial means by establishing an aid association. The Antalya State Hospital Reinforcement Association was established with the aim of physical and hardware renovation of the hospital. With the resources provided by benevolent people with unprecedented sincerity, medical equipment and equipment deficiencies were completed, and until the end of 1985, the best health service was provided to Antalya and its surroundings with the conditions of those days.

The construction of the Antalya State Hospital building, which served between 1985 and 2007, started in 1970 with a capacity of 400 beds and was put into service in mid-1985 after 15 years of construction. The 125-bed Maternity Home, which had been serving in a separate building, was closed in 1986 and incorporated into the State Hospital, and the hospital's permanent bed capacity was increased to 525. Since the bed capacity was insufficient for the increasing population, the number of beds was increased to 600 in 1997 with the additions made to the building. In 2005, the actual number of beds was 625.

On 28. 04. 1995, Sema Yazar Neighborhood Polyclinic was built by Mehmet Yazar, one of our former ministers, in memory of his daughter Sema Yazar, who died in a traffic accident,

Uncalı Neighborhood Polyclinic built on 04-09-2001 in Uncalı district,

In order to meet the increasing demand of our rapidly growing and developing province; The New Hospital building, which can be considered as one of the examples of modern hospital architecture, where modern medical services can be provided in accordance with the conditions of the day and the future, where patient comfort is considered, has started to serve with a capacity of 904 beds since 26-11-2007. The official opening was held on 11-05-2008.

Since 01.01.2009, it has been serving as Antalya Training and Research Hospital.

Antalya Training and Research Hospital serves with a total bed capacity of 867, and with the opening of the 403-bed annex building, it serves Antalya and neighboring provinces with a bed capacity of 1270 with the Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics and 3rd level intensive care units.
