Zeynep Kamil Hospital, which was built by Yusuf Kamil Pasha and his wife Zeynep Hanım in their private property to provide free service to patients, is the oldest health institution in Üsküdar that has been able to continue its health services until today. Another feature is that it is Istanbul's first private charity organization.
Zeynep Hanım is the daughter of the Egyptian Governor Kavalalı Mehmet Ali Pasha. In 1862, a land that was a garden field in the Noah's Well district was purchased to build a hospital. The founding date of Zeynep-Kamil Hospital is 1862 on its emblem.

Yusuf Kamil Pasha was appointed grand vizier by Sultan Abdülaziz in 1863. According to the original plan on the hospital facade, the inscription above the entrance reads fihishifaun li'n nas, meaning "There is health for people in it" (an-Nahl surah verse 69). After their deaths, Zeynep Hanım and Kamil Pasha were buried in the tomb they had built in the hospital garden.

Zeynep Kamil Hospital was given to use as a private surgery clinic by Sait Halim Pasha, the son of Zeynep Hanım's brother Abdülhalim Pasha, in 1896, as a private surgery clinic for Doctor Cemil Topuzlu Pasha, the palace physician working at the Tıbbiye-i Şahane and Hamidiye Etfal Hastanesi-i Ali. Dr. During the reign of Cemil Topuzlu Pasha, the hospital was renovated and modernized, medical equipment was renewed, a heating system was installed, and Austrian nurses were assigned to care for the patients.

Until Cemil Pasha went abroad in 1915, in addition to all surgical operations, cesarean sections were also performed. After this date, the hospital has been called different names and has provided services in different branches under different institutions. The hospital, which was transferred to Istanbul Municipality in 1933, was converted into a maternity hospital in 1935 and Dr. Eyüp Sabri Aksoy was appointed as chief physician (1891 - 1962). During his 17-year term as chief physician, Dr. Eyüp Sabri Aksoy ensured that the hospital was reorganized as a maternity ward.

The development period of Zeynep Kamil Hospital. It started with Fahri Atabey. Dr. Immediately after Fahri Atabey was appointed as chief physician in 1952, the construction of the operating room building, a 150-bed gynecology clinic and a 200-bed pediatric clinic began. The founder of the Children's Clinic, Dr. Ziyaeddin Akbay started his duty in the same period. Both buildings were completed and put into use in 1958. In 1961, the Zeynep Kamil Nursing College building was opened for use.

After Fahri Atabey was elected Mayor of Istanbul in 1968 and left the hospital, Dr. Burhanettin Üstünel was appointed as chief physician and served as chief physician until 1986. During this period, the construction of the building housing the delivery room and the Pediatric Infection and Orthopedics building, designed as a polio hospital, was completed. The management and operation of Zeynep Kamil Hospital was transferred to the Ministry of Health by the Istanbul Municipality with an agreement made in 1982. The hospital is today T.R. It continues to serve as a private branch training hospital under the name of Ministry of Health Zeynep Kamil Women's and Children's Diseases Training and Research Hospital.

In addition to the medical services provided in its branches, specialization training is provided in the branches of obstetrics, gynecology and pediatric surgery, and many certified post-vocational trainings are also carried out successfully.
